Why Teach for America is not allowed in my classroom
Interesting read that brings up some hard-hitting points about TFA.
Of course, this isn’t to say that TFA doesn’t recruit people that are passionate about dedicating their entire life to educational reform, but I do agree with the fact that many do use this program as a spring-board to do other things, and forget about the inequities they were recruited to address in the first place.
Anyway, the big question that still remains is: how do we address educational inequality in these times?
It’s a long uphill battle ahead, but this is something worth fighting for. Everyone deserves the opportunity to reach and fulfill their maximum potential.
